AIM

The AIMClosed Array Installation Modeling (AIM) is a QSC System Navigator prediction tool used for visualization of array coverage in a scaled, graphical model of a venue or installation space. AIM also provides dimensional and weight data for an array as well as pick-point recommendations. (Array Installation Modeling) tool provides a visualization of vertical array coverage by positioning virtual L Class loudspeakers and arrays in a scaled, graphical model of a venue or installation space. This visualization of coverage is helpful in determining the placement, aiming and splay angles for an L Class array.

An AIM model includes two work areas that are accessed by means of buttons on the upper right side of the screen:

  • Edit Venue is used to specify the characteristics of the physical space where the loudspeakers will be used.

  • Edit Array is used to specify the characteristics of the array.

Tip: Arrays and venues may be edited in any order. AIM models may be stored as AIM Files.

AIM Files

To open the AIM Files dialog, touch/click the AIM Files button found on the upper right of the AIM screen. Note that the name of the current AIM model appears above this button. The file management dialog shown below will appear. See File Management for more detail regarding operation.

The keypad is used for entry of numeric values. It appears whenever a value field is selected. The keyed-in value is entered into the AIM model when the Enter key is touched or clicked. If the device that’s running SysNav has a keyboard, it may also be used for numeric value entry. Other controls include:

  • Nudge – Increments or decrements the displayed value by a fixed amount.

  • Fine – Toggles the Nudge value between course and fine steps.

  • Default – Enters the default value (if any) into the selected field.

  • Undo – Returns a keyed-in value to its previous state.
